Depending on the industry of a business, hosting or holding special events could be one of the most important ways to promote the own company or products; or, if the business is out of the gastronomy sector, it is even one of the services the business offers.

There is the Event Calendar on GermanBC to announce and promote special events targeted to the German-speaking community, which is already used for different types of personal or business-oriented or -related events.

But there were already multiple requests reaching us to establish a more simple way for publishing events on GermanBC, specially for businesses where there are many events taking place, so it would be too much work to manage them directly in GermanBC.

Well, on the one hand we want to provide as many events as possible to our members, on the other hand we want to give as many businesses as possible the chance to publish and promote their events on GermanBC, so we decided to develop and offer an automated way for publishing and promoting events on our website.

So we set two connectors for external calndars into operation this week:

  • Google Calendar
  • Meetup Group Calendar

All registered (by the event host or owner of the business) calendars for both connectors are automatically polled and checked by our system and new events are imported into our Event Calendar as an unactivated new event. All team members do check this list at a regular base and manually approve and publish them.

So, if you are a host or promoter of regular events targeted to the German-speaking community in British Columbia, feel free to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and provide us with your Google Calendar oder Meetup Group ID, so we would be able to register it into our poll list.
