Events

There were 15 hours of family fun to enjoy at our Festival in Burnaby on Saturday May 30th 2009. Swirling flags and colourful ethnic costumes highlighted the Opening Ceremony parade. Everyone enjoyed the non-stop Stage Performances. Country representatives shared stories at the 32 Cultural Display booths. Youngsters delighted in the arts & crafts and face-painting in the Children's Tent. They also had a great time doing acrobats in the Bouncing Castle, climbing up the Swiss Rock Wall, and collecting country stamps for their Festival Passports. Unique products were for sale in the MarketPlace Tent. People treated their taste buds by sampling delicious recipes in the Food Tent. The Beer Garden provided the perfect spot to relax with a brew while watching the stage performances. Many also stayed and spent the evening dancing up a storm inside the Scandinavian Centre to the retro/rock songs of "The Tom Cats" band.
